WebSphere® MQ Everyplace™ (WMQE), V2.0, Network Edition enables mobile and wireless applications to take advantage of robust and secure messaging to business-critical applications in the enterprise. WMQE Network Edition is used by Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and application developers to connect applications on mobile devices to each other and to back-end enterprise applications.
WMQE Network Edition supports asynchronous and synchronous messaging as well as peer-to-peer messaging between device clients.
WebSphere MQ Everyplace Network Edition connects directly into these offerings so that you can extend WebSphere Business Integration into the mobile and wireless environment:

WebSphere MQ Everyplace Network Edition supports:
- Asynchronous and synchronous messaging as well as peer-to-peer messaging between device clients
- A broad array of operating systems and device configurations. It offers a choice of implementations - Java™ as well as C - so that applications can run in a Java or non-Java environment
- The JMS™ API and supports standard J2ME™ configurations. Its Java Management Extensions (JMX™) support means you have more choice for systems management.

RETAIL EDITION
WebSphere® MQ Everyplace, V2.0, Retail Edition is designed to meet the needs of retailers who need to capture and exploit customer information and sales transactions from retail systems.
The Retail Edition can be used to enable robust and secure messaging between point-of-sale tills and store controllers, and between store controllers and retail head office. In addition to trickling – rather than batching – sales information in near real-time to the head office, updated price lists and other information can be disseminated directly back to the point-of-sale.
Used in combination with the Network Edition, in-store mobile devices, such as handheld barcode scanners, can be tightly integrated into the store infrastructure.
Other WebSphere Business Integration offerings, for example, WebSphere MQ and WebSphere MQ Integrator Broker, can be used to format and distribute this valuable information within the enterprise for use in planning new products and promotions as well as feeding into supply chain management, data mining and consumer behaviour analysis applications.
